Because I'm not posting any pretty pictures today, I thought I might post the results of a quick google search into creating a Compact Photo Studio.
Actually Tabletop Studio have a range of great tips on their website, including this
When I started my google search, this is the kind of thing I was hopeing to see:

It's called an EZcube. I love the idea of portable studios, no you can't fit a person in there but you can photograph a huge range of other small objects like Jewlrey, flowers, figurines etc. These guys have a few different sizes, 20x20x20 to 55x55x55, and range in price from $90-$180US. Verdict - I want one or something like one.
This lesson was to use my camera at waist height or above the head (any height other then eye height). Because I already do this I have decided not to actively pursue this lesson due to being low on time and energy right now.
I'm also going away today until Sunday night so I want be able to update until Monday at which time I hope to have compleated the remainder of my exercises for Chapter 1.
This project was to look at images in a square rather then a rectangle format. I thought polaroid vs standard. I really enjoyed this project. I took photos of things that I would not normaly shoot and was very surprised by many of my results.
I decided that I had about 14 photos that I wanted to display and discuss (some in their square and original formats) but then realsied that it was probably a bad idea to load all of these images into 1 post. Instead I have uploaded them to my flickr account and shall use links form there.
This is just one of the imags cropped into a square and displayed as a polaroid (because it was fun to do).
This chapter concentrates on developing skills of observation.
For my first assignment I had to select 5 letters of the alphabet and photograph objects or parts of them that look like those letters (keeping colour, texture, lighting and/or tone in mind).
I have recently purchased a copy of "Langford's Starting Photography". I have been searching the net to find a community of users who currently use this work book, unfortunatly I have found zip. So I have decided that I shall post my attempts at the exercises in the book here.
Feedback is appreciated if, when and where appropriate.
My 'course work' will take precedence over other entries.
I took this photo on an overcast day on our trip to New Zealand in Jan/Feb 2006. We stopped over in Kaikoura for a few nights before heading over to the North Island. After taking this shot (and a few others) we indulged in a meal of whitebate pancakes and scalops freshly cooked by the sea from which they came just that morning, yum.
